Nick Cannon is known for vocalizing his opinion no matter how controversial the topic is, and on Sunday, the ‘America’s Got Talent‘ host was surprisingly shocked after the controversy that has sparked from his Instagram post posing with a white skin tone paint on his face, creating a new persona named Conner Smallnut.
The photo, which Cannon is using to promote his newest work of music titled, “White People Partying Music“, was posted on Sunday with the caption,
“It’s official… I’m White!!! #WHITEPEOPLEPARTYMUSIC #Wppm in stores April 1st!!!!!! Dude Go Get It!!! Join The Party!!!! #GoodCredit #DogKissing #BeerPong #FarmersMarkets #FistPumping #CreamCheeseEating #RacialDraft “Bro I got drafted!!”
Seem harmless, right?
It was then when Twitter and Instagram blew up with people either taking major offense or not taking it anything more than a harmless joke.
@TheRealPlusOne commented on the photo are feeling as if there is a double standard here commenting, “It’s ok that Nick does this cause 100 years ago your ancestors were slaves we get it . Get over it”
@athenasmama916 took to the post commenting, “Im white and this sh*t is hilarious, man get your panties out of a bunch. Honey boo boos sister was Kanye for halloween I didn’t hear nothing bout her being racist. Its funny stop crying.”
Nick’s response? “It’s funny how people take themselves so seriously. People love drama! We feed off of it. Just relax and have fun,” Nick tweeted yesterday afternoon.
We will just sit back and watch when Nick’s album comes out to see if this was helpful or hurtful, what do you think? Leave your comments below.
