Wiz Khalifa, Young Jeezy, and Tyga stopped in Tinley Park, Illinois for their Under The Influence Tour at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater on August 5th, 2014 sponsored by The Illinois Lottery as part of the summer long #APMusicSeries.
With some calling Wiz Khalifa the Snoop Dogg of our generation, you pretty much can already assume this concert would be a stoner’s paradise. And although the turn up was real as Wiz came on stage with a blunt in hand, the show surprised me.
The majority of Wiz Khalifa’s time on stage talking to the audience was spent telling the audience about reaching their goals, and how to be successful in life while still having fun day by day. As cliché as it sounds, I was very shocked by how Wiz Khalifa views life, and how he got to where he is today.
Young Jeezy (right) also took no time to get straight to the point during his set, telling the crowd. “If your dreams don’t scare you, you ain’t dreamin’ big enough!”
The overuse of flashing strobe lights became a little abrupt too as the concert kept going along.
Overall at the show I had a great time dancing and singing along to the many songs I previously knew, however, concerts with more than 3 different artist is not a fun experience. You have to deal with every single artist being late with so much time between acts to the point where it became flustering.
I would love to thank the Illinois Lottery for inviting me back to the #APMusicSeries! The Illinois Lottery Team were very extremely friendly speaking with concert goer Myles Payne, 20, who bought the newest line of Illinois Lottery scratch off’s, The Anything Possible Card, which is only $1 per card!
