Joan Rivers ‘not conscious but stable’ at NY Hospital
A law enforcement source has confirmed to the media that Joan Rivers was rushed to a hospital Thursday morning after her breathing stopped during throat surgery.
The 81 year old Fashion Police Co-Host was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital (right) in New York in critical condition.
broke the story, and at 8:49 AM PT, the news source reported that at one point the comedian’s heart stopped beating with the 911 caller saying, “We have somebody in either cardiac or reparatory arrest.”
The New York Fire Department has reported that emergency medical help was dispatched to 201 E. 93rd St. at 9:40 a.m., with the patient in ‘cardiac and respiratory arrest’ at the scene.
Sources close the NY Daily News
say, “This is not looking good. No big medical decisions will be made until Melissa
(Rivers’ daughter) arrives.” They also report Joan’s assistant, Graham Reed said, “She’s not conscious, but she’s stable.”
This would not be the first health scare Rivers has encountered in her life. In 2002, Rivers was diagnosed with osteoporosis and has been vocal about her troubled eating habits.
“I try not to be, but I’m a terrible eater. I wish I could say I eat super-healthy, but I don’t,” said Rivers. “I love junk food. It should be its own food group- so I help my nones with supplements and medicine.
