[CONCERT REVIEW] E-40 Brings the Heat to Chicago’s Double Door

Although Double Door was frozen outside and inside due to freezing temps in Chicago, E-40 brought the West Coast heat to Chitown, Tue. Nov. 18, 2014,(appearing after midnight).Screen Shot 2014-11-18 at 1.01.10 PM
E-40 is currently touring the US, promoting two new albums set for release on Dec. 9, 2014 titled ‘Sharp On All 4 Corners’.
Throughout the entire show, E-40 maintained his west coast values which I was 100% here for, (Fun Fact: E-40 and I were born in Vallejo, California).
The entire vibe kept up throughout the duration of the concert.
Although Double Door may have not been as packed as they probably planned, I would estimate maybe 100-150 people attended the general admission concert. However, concert attendees were awaiting E-40’s arrival.
It was apparent that E-40 totally loves what he does,

“I started playing the ‘#$&*^#*&$’ snare drum since the fourth grade,” the rapper told the crowd. “This ain’t no play s%$#, I had a passion for music my whole life.”

The only thing I would change about the show however, would be the amount of openers. It got to the point where the crowd was not interacting with the opening act on stage. The opening artist proceeded to go off on the audience suggesting they go home if they want to sit still. It wasn’t because we were not excited, it was because you lacked talent overall.
Overall, I would recommend someone seeing E-40, he sang his new music with a  mix of the classics we have been loving for the past 30 years!
