Mariah Carey will soon be the biggest act in Las Vegas.
The iconic singer is scheduled to appear on The Ellen Show on Thursday to announce a Vegas residency performing tour.
“I’m going to do my first ever residency in Vegas at Caesar’s [Palace],” Carey told Ellen. “This is a special event for me. And again, I have to hope that fans will enjoy this cause I’m gonna be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album ‘#1’s’ and this is now the updated version with 18 of them.”
A start date has not been announced however the residency would only last until Celine Dion’s return to Vegas in March. Dion postponed her Las Vegas residency and tour due to her husband’s cancer.
Don’t expect to hear hits off of her newest album ‘Me. I Am Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse‘, the diva also tells Ellen she plans to sing her hits dating back to the early 90’s, “Visions of Love”, “Emotions”, “Fantasy”, “We Belong Together”, “Touch My Body”, etc.
Carey follows behind Britney Spears who also is performing in Vegas at Planet Hollywood through 2017. Although Celine is the true original when it comes to Vegas residencies, other pop divas are considering joining the crew. J. Lo has been rumored to be considering signing a Vegas residency tour.
No word on tickets yet, however, I’m sure they will go for a pretty penny.
I will definitely be attending Mariah’s tour in Vegas and will be able to tell you all about it.
