Stefani filed for ‘irreconcilable differences’ and is asking for joint custody of the couple’s three children ages 1, 6, and 9 years old. Gavin has also asked for joint custody in his response which was filed at the same time as Gwen’s paperwork.
The two released the following statement to the general public:
While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain parters in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three songs in a happy and healthy environment.
-Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s joint statement, released Mon. Aug. 3, 2015.
TMZ’s sources are saying there is no prenup between the two, therefore the two will have to split property 50/50 by California law. There is an estimated whopping $115 million between the two, Gwen’s worth $80 million while Gavin sits on a pretty $35 million.
It appears this is a decision the two have agreed upon together and have the children in the best interest. Best of luck to both of them.
