The late pitcher helped his team get to world series twice, one of those times, winning the championship.
At the age of 25, Kansas City Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura has passed away after being killed in a car accident in the Dominican Republic.
According to the Royals official website, reports from the country say the crash occured on a highway in Rancho Arriba.
Ventura took the mound in the 2014 and 2015 World Series and earned a ring in 2015. He started in nine total postseason games and had a 38-31 career pitching record.
“Our prayers right now are with Yordano’s family as we mourn this young man’s passing. He was so young and so talented, full of youthful exuberance and always brought a smile to everyone he interacted with. We will get through this as an organization, but right now is a time to mourn and celebrate the life of Yordano.”
